Tony Abbott sidestepped the shadow secretary of the House of Representatives’ question about whether he was a “victim” of a politically motivated raid, after claiming he was a “victim” of the phone tapping operation.
The Treasurer was asked why he let Mr Abbott, a former Prime 미국 카지노Minister who lost a general election in 2014, remain in office for more than a year after the secret operations were discovered, despite resigning the federal position in 2010 to take office in the new Parliament.
In a statement, Treasurer Joe Hockey said Mr Abbott had failed to provide information about the operation, which he called “a massive miscarriage of justice”.
“The Government didn’t have an excuse to delay its decision on whether or not to accept responsibility for the operation, especially given the events it left the Government in,” Mr Hockey said.
“The Prime Minister had the opportunity to admit that he was involved in the operation and he did not, and that’s what we call responsibility for the actions of one man – not for the actions of a number of people.”
Mr Hockey said Mr Abbott had committed “imperative actions” to make sure the operation was done “properly”, that it went “straightly and legally” and that Mr Abbott himself would be “held to account for these actions”.
The Government’s national security adviser told parliament the operation involved five or six key member바카라 이기는 법s of government.
The leak, which was uncovered by former federal election donor Paul Golding, came after it was revealed the two men who worked with the Prime Minister as part of Operation Sovereign Borders were the sole source of a tip-off about the operation being being conducted under the code-name R14.
At the time, Mr Abbott was the Prime Minister and his former political ally John Howard, who was then Treasurer, had confirmed a secret interception had taken place.
After the revelations, Mr Hockey said it had been the Prime Minister’s “responsibility” to respond when confronted by questions, rather th얀 카지노an make a “reckless response”.
“What we have to do is not do something that’s dangerous in terms of the actions or conduct of another,” Mr Hockey told parliament.
